Mr. Johnson previously worked for 10 years in the real estate industry at The Wisinski Group in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was featured in the article 'Property Management, His Forte,' in the ‘Palm Beach Post’ in 2003. He was a teacher in Michigan. He also published a children's book, entitled, 'The Tree that Went Sailing' in 2008, which is available in both soft and hardcover through www.xlibris.com. The book was based on a true story about the relocation of an 80 ton Green Buttonwood tree via barge on the Intracoastal Waterway to a family estate. The cost of its relocation amounted to $100,000 and it still stands today. His earlier achievements include having made it to the Junior Ski Nationals and Olympic Tryouts in 1955 and 1956, taking part in a ski instructor exchange program in Austria in 1957 and an IPSRA professional ski racer in 1959. In addition to his own accomplishments, Mr. Johnson would like to emphasize those of his daughters. Gretchen A. Johnson Boekeloo is a restaurant owner of Roadhouse Bar & Grill in Benzonia, Michigan. Heidi A. Johnson, who passed away on August 4, 2008 was an award-winning photographer in the state of Michigan and authored a book in 2001, which won the Notable Book Award in 2002, entitled ‘Angels in the Architecture: A Photographic Elegy to an American Asylum.' He is a widower.
