Dunn was raised in Virginia and New York City. Despite being the child of a young single mother, Dunn never gave up hope, even when the odds were against him.
Dunn serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, including Lifting As We Climb Foundation and White Oak Youth Sports Association. He is the founder of Project We Care/Adopt A Soldier- a project that recieved seven different community awards for sending more than fifteen hundred packages to deployed soldiers.
Dunn currently works as a Community Center Director in Maryland where he also resides with his children.
